The School has a strong tradition in cricket and fields teams at all levels.
The sport is well-supported by the WCS Cricket Supporters' Club that helps with the development and maintenance of our three turf cricket wickets, five turf practice wickets and other cricket facilities in our School. Students are encouraged to reach beyond the School and play in representative teams.
WCS Cricket Academy High Performance Programme
The aim of the Academy is to develop the natural talent, flair, technical skill, mental attitude and general cricket knowledge, as well as etiquette, of Academy Cricketers to prepare them for the rigorous demands of Provincial, State and eventually International cricket.
The high-performance programme, run by WCS Cricket Academy Head Coach, Tom Dryden, caters to individual needs. Guest coaches hold clinics and Academy students have individual programmes customised to meet their own needs and requirements. Sessions are during the students' free time or designated period, and will be separate to normal training times. The programme breaks at the end of Term 1 and recommences at the start of Term 3.
Students will have to have displayed significant cricket/athletic talent and commitment in their respective age groups. They will also need to have the following attributes:
