Izard Centre Refurbishment
The Izard Centre is our indoor sports facility used for classes, competitions and training.
Izard Centre upgrades were completed and opened for student use in May 2020.
The upgrades included:
- A purpose built weight training area and conditioning zone in the squash courts
- New classrooms in the top floor of the squash court
- More showers and refurbished toilets at the Grey street end
- New windows will be installed in the Grey Street end for nautral light and ventilation
- Storage area upgrade and new shelving
- New fire escape stairs
- New carpet in the mezzanine and stairs and painting in other internal areas
- New lights and a new fire detection system
Mr Richard Izard (Hy, 1948-50) made the founding donation which enabled the construction of the facility. The School acknowledges Mr Izard's further, very generous donation enabling this latest upgrade to the Izard Centre.
